ReadBridge — Request Data Deletion
This page explains how to have your personal data in ReadBridge deleted — either yourself, inside the app, or by sending us a request. You do not need to delete your account to remove your data. ReadBridge is published by LEMNISCIA.
The short version
You have three ways to remove your data:
- In the app: delete any read, quiz, word book or saved word yourself.
- Uninstall: removes everything stored on your device.
- Email us at [email protected] to erase your account and all cloud data.
1. How to request deletion
- Delete content yourself, in the app. Most of your data lives on your device. Open Library and delete any read, daily or quiz (swipe, or use Manage); open Words and delete word books or individual saved words. Cloud Sync in the Me tab lets you review and remove what is stored in the cloud. If you are signed in, these deletions are applied to the cloud copy as well.
- Uninstall to remove everything on the device. Uninstalling ReadBridge erases all data stored locally on your device. Cloud data (created only if you signed in) is handled by step 3.
- Email us to delete your account and all cloud data. Email [email protected] from the address you signed in with, using the subject “Delete my account”. You can also use the in-app Help & Feedback → Contact support form. We verify the request, delete your data, and confirm by email when it is complete.
2. What is deleted and what is kept
Deleted when you request it
- Account and sign-in identity — your email address or Google/Apple sign-in link.
- Profile — nickname, status line and avatar.
- Word books and saved words, including star ratings and review schedule.
- Reading progress and bookmarks, and your study statistics.
- Synced document text — the books and articles held in your private library storage on the Pro plan.
- AI-generated reads and saved quizzes.
- Your personal dictionary of refined word explanations.
- Subscription record — the link between your account and your plan.
- Support messages and any screenshots you attached.
Kept, or kept longer
- Anonymous, aggregate usage totals — not linked to your identity; retained to run the service.
- Purchase and tax records — retained as long as accounting and tax law require, typically 6 years under Irish law, then removed.
- Store purchase history — held by Google Play or Apple under their own policies; manage it in your store account.
- Crash and diagnostic data — keyed to a random installation identifier, not to your account; deleted within 90 days.
3. Timing
Emailed requests are actioned within 30 days, and normally sooner. Crash and diagnostic records, which are not linked to your account, are deleted within 90 days.
4. Good to know
If you never signed in, ReadBridge holds no cloud data about you — deleting content in the app or uninstalling removes everything. AI word and grammar explanations are cached in a shared, anonymous form keyed to the word itself, never to you.
